Check out these before, during, and after shots of Colleen & Derek Ferguson’s new fence gate project. They borrowed a posthole digger, tamper, post level, and digging bar from the Santa Rosa Tool Library to get the job done.

Colleen shared: “Using tools from the Santa Rosa Tool Library, my husband and I dug post holes for installation of an aluminum fence. We’re replacing the old wood fence adjacent to our home with an aluminum fence as a fire home hardening project.”

 Thanks to your generosity, we’ve raised over $20,000 this year! What an incredible show of support to help keep the Tool Library open and thriving. Your donations make it possible for us to continue offering free access to tools for the entire community at our downtown Santa Rosa location.

Thanks to your generosity, we’ve already raised over $10,000—that’s a huge step forward! Our total fundraising goal is $28,000 to keep the Tool Library open through 2026, and we’re doing everything we can to reach it.

Check out Colleen and Derek Ferguson's mailbox replacement project ...

"Using tools from the Santa Rosa Tool Library, my husband and I replaced our and our neighbor’s mailbox post. After the concrete around the post set, we installed a new spreader bar and mailboxes. Why? Because the old mailboxes weren’t secure and the mail got wet when it rained."

Colleen used a Post Level, Digging Bar and Post Hole Digger to complete the project. Fantastic work, Colleen and Derek!

The Santa Rosa Tool Library (SRTL) is dedicated to helping people who live or work in Sonoma County reduce the cost of maintaining the places in which they live, work, and play. The tool library offers hand and power tools for landscaping, home repair, and automotive work free of charge. SRTL is run entirely by volunteers and is a 501(c)3 public charity.
