🌳🍑🌿 Just had an amazing time at the fruit tree pruning seminar hosted by The Stein Family Farm in National City! 🌳🍑🌿 Led by the incredible certified arborist and fruit tree expert Kurt Peacock, we delved into the art of summer pruning for peaches, plums, pluots, and pluerrys. 🍑🍇✂️

Learning all about the benefits of summer pruning - controlling vegetative growth and inviting more sunlight into the heart of the trees for sweeter, tastier fruit! 🌞🍏🍐 The insights shared were beyond valuable, and we're all set to become expert pruners now! 🌱🌳

Just did a trunk and soil injection treatment and on an Italian stone pine with another local arborist, Luke! 💪🏼🌲

Client was concerned about the increase in black sooty mold covering her patio, and white fuzzy stuff on the needles.

We used state-of-the-art equipment to inject the tree with a systemic to attack the adelgids, tortoise pine scale, spider mites and any other piercing/sucking insect. By injecting the fertilizer directly into the soil, we were able to deliver targeted nutrition to the tree's roots, promoting healthy growth and development.

We'll check on this tree in about 4 weeks for an update.

This is a rare cycad from the state of Hidalgo, Mexico. It produces bronze new growth that turns green over time. This is called Ceratozamia fuscoviridis. A Horticulturist from San Fransisco was able to produce seeds from pollen he brought, and donated them to the San Diego Botanic Garden. I'm curious to find out if they germinated!

Love learning about different plants. During todays consultation, I learned just as much information from a client as she learned from me. She has a rare Orchid collection from Mexico, Columbia, Peru and Brazil. A lot of these are only found at 8,000 ASL or more. And receive very little water! The yellow Orchid is the rarest of them all. Only 1 of 2 clones in the United States!

We discovered another split trunk on an acacia while performing maintenance on trees that have been braced in the past. We braced these trees about 3 years ago, and regularly reduce weight to make sure they remain as healthy as possible. We installed a temporary cable to hold it together until we can come back and install a rod.
