The Stone Cutter and the Harvest
A stone cutter swings his hammer against a massive rock.
Strike 1. Nothing.
Strike 10. No visible change.
Strike 50. Still no crack.
Strike 99. The stone looks exactly as it did before.
Then comes strike 100.
The rock splits in two.
But was it really the 100th strike that broke the stone?
Of course not. Every swing mattered. Every unseen impact weakened the rock. Every act of persistence contributed to the breakthrough. The final strike simply revealed what the previous 99 had been building all along.
The same principle is true in our faith, our work, and our calling.
When we're sowing seeds of kindness, serving faithfully, praying consistently, investing in relationships, or pursuing God's purpose, it's easy to become discouraged when we don't immediately see results. We wonder if our efforts are making any difference.
But Scripture reminds us:
"Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up." โ Galatians 6:9
Just as the stone cutter's first 99 strikes were not wasted, neither are the seeds you sow today. Growth often happens beneath the surface long before it becomes visible. The harvest is being prepared even when the field appears unchanged.
Keep swinging.
Keep sowing.
Keep believing.
The breakthrough may look like it comes all at once, but it is often the result of countless faithful acts that came before it.
Don't quit on strike 99.
Your harvest may be closer than you think. ๐ฑโ๏ธ๐
