Sweet Sparkman Architecture & Interiors

Sweet Sparkman Architecture & Interiors Architecture Planning and design are an action-oriented process that identifies problems and creates alternate solutions to meet the client’s goals.

Sweet Sparkman Architecture and Interiors, formerly known as TOTeMS Architecture, Inc., is interested in work, not measured by size, but by its relevance to the owner, community, and environment. Each project is approached with this philosophy. The firm offers thoughtful, thorough physical design for projects at all scales, from intimate garden details to large regional projects and streetscapes.

Each project demands a holistic process centered on the client’s needs. Sweet Sparkman is passionate about design for both the public and the private realms. Every project forms an essential core for healthy, livable communities and provides owners with a direct link to both the natural world and a heritage of place. In line with this community-based orientation, the firm’s approach to project planning and design involves a collaborative process. This actively engages the client and the community through all of the project’s stages, from initial understanding of the site to master planning and final design. This collaboration produces projects that are both original and intuitive.

We’re proud to be part of the team breaking ground on Marie Selby Botanical Gardens Phase Two of the master plan on December 2nd, alongside OLIN and Kimley-Horn.

This transformational phase will bring a hurricane-resilient greenhouse conservatory, a flexible Learning Pavilion, and enhanced public access to Selby’s world-renowned epiphyte collections. The new Conservatory Complex will feature glass and metal greenhouse volumes organized around a central “Sun Garden,” with accessible walkways winding through cascading orchids, waterfalls, and suspended planters.

Tim Scovanner ‘11 found his happiest moments at Eckerd on South Beach and the South Rec Field — where blue skies met grass, sand, and sea. A Philosophy graduate who loved this special corner of campus, Tim’s memory lives on through a generous gift from his family — parents Doug and Mary, and sister Jill — to enhance this beloved space.

Built to withstand Florida’s toughest weather — already battle-tested through two major hurricanes — the Tim Scovanner ‘11 Pavilion stands strong with four concrete columns and a cantilevered roof fitted with 115 solar panels. This waterfront gathering space provides shade and comfort for students to study, relax, and connect at the heart of Eckerd’s social life: the water’s edge.

We’re happy to celebrate cutting the ribbon on the newly renovated Tonne Playhouse at the Largo Central Park Performing Arts Center!

Originally constructed in the 1990s, the venue was thoughtfully redesigned to elevate the overall experience. The renovation includes enhanced acoustics, advanced lighting systems, new seating, curved wood paneling, and programmable LED lighting—all contributing to a more refined and upscale atmosphere.

Step into the future of theatrical production with the Koski Production Center.

This comprehensive undertaking involved interior and exterior renovations, adding versatile rehearsal studios, a recording studio, offices, and dedicated costume spaces. Our design philosophy revolves around providing a contemporary environment that aligns with the Asolo’s commitment to artistic excellence and community engagement.

Particular attention was given to the interaction between natural light and shadows in the design of the exterior trellis. State-of-the-art facilities not only elevate production capabilities but also foster creativity, collaboration, and the cultivation of theatrical arts.

Blackburn Bay is more than a residence; it’s a narrative of coastal living.

Our design responds to the island’s tapestry - mangroves, coastal strands, and the Gulf’s shallow beaches. The landscape seamlessly envelopes the home.
