9. Double-sided heavy-duty tape
Step-by-Step Instructions:
1. Prepare the PVC Sheets
Β· Use a table saw to cut the 4x8 PVC sheet down to size. For 4ft high walls, cut 4 inches off the sheet. This gives you two pieces:
o A 44β high piece for the main wall covering.
o A 4β piece to mount at the bottom of the wall.
2. Mount the 4β PVC Strip
Β· Attach the 4β PVC strip at the bottom of the wall using marine-grade nails. This serves as a base for the main wall covering.
3. Install the Baseboard
Β· Take the baseboard vinyl S4 S molding and install it over the 4β PVC strip. Ensure the baseboard fits snugly, covering the strip completely. Be sure to account for any flooring adjustments.
4. Cut and Install the Remaining PVC Sheet
Β· Cut the remaining 44β PVC sheet to fit the width of the wall.
Β· Install the PVC sheet by aligning the bottom edge with the top of the baseboard, ensuring a clean fit.
5. Install H Channels
Β· Install the H Channel Staffing Kit between each panel to ensure a tight and seamless fit. Each panel should slot securely into the H channel.
6. Install Inside Corners
Β· As you work through each wall, install inside corner pieces using the inside cove corner product. These will cover the edges where two walls meet. Use screws to secure the inside corners.
7. Install Outside Corners
Β· Once all the wall panels and inside corners are installed, finish by adding the outside corner pieces. Use double-sided tape to secure the outside corners from the top of the baseboard to the bottom of the PVC channel.
Final Tips:
Β· Use marine-grade nails to prevent rust or corrosion over time, especially in areas exposed to moisture.
Β· Make sure all panels are aligned straight and level for a professional finish.
Β· The double-sided tape for the outside corners should be heavy-duty to ensure a strong and durable hold.
Cost Saving Measures
Β· Use backer board on one side of the studs and PVC Wall Board on the other side. Ex: If a bedroom butts up to a garage wall and the living room wall, use backer board on the bedroom and garage side and the PVC Wall Board on the living room side. You want to be able to open up at least one side of the wall to replace the insulation and dry out the studs.
Β· If some of your walls are cinder block, just paint them the same color as the other walls.
