Fruit trees arrived today. Most are in three-gallon containers, which we were lucky to get, as most nursery people are moving them up to cover the loss from the weird double freeze. Kohala longan, the gold lychee, takes the cold better and is eaten like a lychee. Sugar Apples are easy to fruit here. Tropical Guava Ruby X is used in pastries or out of hand. Avocado Utuado, a dwarf tree, late fruiter, Dec. to January. Cold-hardy to 20-23 degrees, with 13-oz fruit. Container or in the ground with a more rounded body. Beautiful Brogdon avocado in a 7-gallon before they are moved up, and they are beautiful and full. Day avocado from July to September, and very easy to grow in a container. Oh yes, one Bacon Avocado, and no, it does not taste like bacon. Blessings Kathy

The photo with the large leaves is a Podless Orchid tree in 7 gallons
The next photo is a 7-gallon Shady Lady, and the last photo is a larger 3-gallon Royal Poinciana and a small 3-gallon Jacaranda. May not be in any particular order. One more step to learn is how to put the names on the photos. Working in the 100-degree heat drains me, so I want to nap. Just in today. Blessings Kathy

Think positively, we are halfway to winter.
So now it is time to get these beauties that arrived today in the ground. Mangoes, Coconut Cream, Mallika, a dwarf, Nam Doc Mai, a repeat fruiter in 7-gallon containers, and many kinds in 3-gallon containers, Persian Lime in 5-gallon containers, along with Red Lime, a thornless acidic fruit like Key Lime, only thornless. You can make Red Lime pie just like a Key Lime pie. Both are excellent, Bock in stock, Red Grapefruit. Ruby X Guava, which is a tropical Guava used in pastry. In Loquats, our new arrival is Christmas, which fruits in the Winter when our Snow Birds are here. Blessings Kathy

Petrea, aka Queen's Wreath or Sandpaper Vine, has arrived in bloom. You saw the first blooming ginger called Curcuma Elata, and now the second bloomer has arrived. Warner has been cutting, trimming and moving dead plants all day. I do not know how he does it. I drag a hose around all day and w**d, and I can barely move now. Blessings Kathy

We were given a large amount of Foxtail palm seeds. Fresh and needs to be planted. We are keeping some, and the rest are no charge to my customers. Have fun growing your own Foxtails are fast growers, reaching an ultimate height of about 30 feet. The foxtail is a moderately salt-tolerant palm, and it's self-cleaning.
It is costly to have someone come out and trim them if you want them to look beautiful in your yard. Fronds are large on this palm, so plant a single specimen at least 8 feet from the house (and even farther for multiple trunks, since they bow out) to allow the head of the palm room to flush out without fronds being damaged. You can also start them in the ground. Blessings Kathy

Having good luck today with photos. One photo is our newly decorated greenhouse. Other pictures are some of the new additions added today. Viburnum Odoratissimum two sizes, Viburnum suspensum salt tolerant, Texas silver sage, Salvia rosmarinus Rosemary, Thyrallis, Perennial peanut eco turf, and Mimosa strigillosa groud cover. Hi to everyone, glad you stopped by to see
What we were up to today. Warner and I w**ded by hand and machine our greenhouse filled with old garden roses. We can fill it with all the new things arriving at 6 a.m. This is going to be a long day for sure. We have to meet them at our big white sign at the beginning of the dirt road. The truck is a semi, and they can not get down the dirt road. So coming in are Thyrallis, Silver leaf Texas sage, White Plumbego, Dark blue Plumbego, Salem rosemary, Sweet Viburnam in 3- and 7-gallon containers, Viburnam suspensum, Eco turf, and Mimosa ground cover. Dwarf McArthur Bottle brush, Calamondin loaded with fruit, Nagami Kumquat filled with fruit. Blessings Kathy

If only I could remember how I got pictures here tomorrow. We now have Dwarf Bottle Brush for smaller gardens or where shorter butterfly shrubs are needed, Mexican Sage, and tropical Milkw**d.
For trees, Boyette Bottlebrush, Silver Mist Magnolia. White Lantana and Salvia. All are organically grown. This is just part of our flower collection, and we also have the larval plants. Coontie and Aristolochia, and much more, are added almost daily as they become ready. Blessings Kathy

Something is always happening on the net when you want to send pictures. So, for now, I will have to give you an updated list of what came in today. Meiwa (round) and Nagai (long) Kumquats, Red Navel, Pineapple Orange, Calamondin, and Eureka pure lemon.
Ruby X Guava, and a new item for those who would like to entice hummingbirds to their homes with only small yards, we added McArthur dwarf bottlebrush in 3 and 7-gallon containers, in bloom and well established in their containers. Also, the Nandina shrub has its changing foliage and berries. Blessings Kathy
