The wallcovering at Classic Luxe is one you really appreciate more once you’re in the room.

The raffia has this woven texture that gives the walls a lot of depth without asking for too much attention. It creates a richer backdrop for the art and adds another layer to the room that’s hard to fully capture in a photograph.
Subtle, but you definitely feel it.

You might see a sea of neutrals, but we see something far more nuanced.

A little peek at what’s on the boards for our Heirloom House project. It’s all about layering tonal textures, subtle shifts in color, and contrasting materials to create warmth, depth, and richness within a restrained palette.

Sometimes the quietest palettes have the most to say.

A moment from Sunny Scandinavian that lives up to its name.

Adding the skylight was an important design gesture to keep this kitchen bright, bringing natural light in from above and changing the way the white cabinetry, stone and wood read throughout the day. It’s a simple architectural move that makes all the difference.

We’re just 3–4 weeks away from installing Birdie’s Nest, and it’s so much fun seeing the final decorative layers start to come together!

One of our favorites is this bespoke mural by andrea coish. We spend so much time thoughtfully composing every detail of a room, and then a talented artist comes in with a paintbrush and brings a whole new level of energy, personality, and artistry to the space.

Love watching it all come to life. More to come!

When we were developing the palette for Seaside Zen, we kept coming back to the colors you find right outside.

Take a handful of sand and sea glass and there’s an incredible range of neutrals, with these wonderful pinks and blues mixed in. That became the starting point for the house, and you can really see it in this room.

For the second year in a row, we brought the BKID team together for a little time away from our everyday routines. Working with The Renewal Office we planned a Palm Springs retreat that mixed inspiration, creativity, and some much-needed time to reconnect.

Our days included project site visits, an architecture tour, painting and pottery, a sound bath, and perhaps most meaningfully, a team archetype workshop. It gave us a chance to better understand how we each work, how we collaborate, and how we communicate and present our ideas to clients.

It was an incredibly fun and regenerative few days together. Feeling very grateful for this talented group of people and the opportunity to keep growing together.

Some of our most expressive wallcoverings have found their way into powder rooms.

We often talk about the “jewel box” effect with these smaller spaces. I love how the right wallcovering can completely change your sense of the room—surrounding you in pattern, blurring the edges and sometimes even making the space feel larger than it

There’s also a little more freedom in a powder room to choose something bold, playful or unexpected. It’s a brief moment within the larger experience of the house, which makes it a wonderful place to have some fun.

A few favorites from over the years. Which is yours?

There’s nothing particularly secondary about this pantry at our Winter Retreat. We carried the same warmth and materiality you’d expect in the kitchen into this smaller space, with oak cabinetry and creamy stone giving it a presence of its own.

I love the conversation between the fireplace and sculptural pendant here. The architecture at Heritage Classic has a distinctly traditional rhythm and strong symmetry, while the fixture introduces something sharper and more unexpected—breaking up that formality just enough. That tension gives the room a more modern point of view.
