Throwback Thursday to that Winter I spent making 3 flights of stairs in my parents' house less decrepit. I removed carpet and wallpaper, stripped the peeling white paint off a hundred spindles, sanded the landings and stairs, and painted the walls and trim. I still think I could have a career in interior design. @ Scarsdale, New York

A lot of late nights the last couple of weeks but now comes the satisfying part - posting the pictures after all my blood, sweat and tears.

Here is the picture you requested, as well as some from the last job that was done in the same color. The floor is stained with Duraseal Jacobean, followed by 3 coats of Duraseal oil-based polyurethane in a satin sheen. As you can see, the same stain looks different so don't let the color chart fool you when you choose the color for your floors. Many variables dictate the final color so I'll make you plenty of samples.

This project included removing old, dirty carpet, the linoleum beneath it, and restoring the original wood floors. Painting, trim installation, and restoration of brass hardware was also done.
