Gospel Tracts? My theory is that many Christians rarely use gospel tracts. The reason for my theory is that when visiting or attending churches that have tracts or tract racks, I don't see very many people taking tracts. Maybe they do so when I don't see it. I don't want to be too judgemental, and I do realize that some who don't take tracts do evangelize in other ways such as Bible studies, or inviting people to meals and giving a gospel testimony.
Those things are great, and maybe even better than tracts. But even for those that do these ways of evangelism, tracts are a great follow-up to that, and perhaps more importantly, tracts are a way to give a witness when either you or someone else doesn't have time to have a complete gospel presentation conversation. I do believe the gospel is simple and doesn't take very long to present.
Yesterday, I met again someone I had presented a tract to A LONG TIME AGO! I mentioned to him about giving him a gospel tract. He said to me, "I still have it". This happened to me before when I gave a tract to a gas station cashier. I forgot I had given it, but he recognized me and said something like: "you gave this to me about 2 years ago." He still had it with him at the gas station. I believe many people who receive tracts will not show up at your church (I wish they would if your church faithfully preaches and teaches God's word). But God's word won't return void (Isaiah 55), so my advice is keep giving tracts. Perhaps some of the recipients will tell you in heaven some day that they are there because they believed the gospel as a result of the tract you gave!
