Sometimes we get to work on an old shower valve that’s hard to find replacement parts for. Save all your old parts till the job is done! Best thing to do here would be replace the whole valve, but access was not good. We can clean this brass valve up with a soft bristle brush and some vinegar or CLR. Leaving all that corrosion will likely cause the next leak to be sooner rather than later

Tiny amounts of water were leaking through this 2nd floor patio countertop and making its way to the ceiling of the patio below. There’s surely an issue below the countertop that is letting the water through, but resealing and waterproofing the countertop as best we can sure beats tearing the whole thing out!
