Automated curtains, a smart system is so important to these large custom homes. Does your automobile still have a crank for the window, do you still rub your cloths against a washboard to get them clean, do you pull out a phone book to look up the local doctor? No, things advance, buckle up!

I am always looking for something profound to say. Something to encourage or make one think. But I often over think it and don’t complete the post. 😂

This is one of my favorite images from a recent shoot with . It showcases the front door.

Pella has been such a key partner in my builds. This is just a clip of what we’ve accomplished in less than the 3 years we’ve worked together. Some pretty amazing openings we’ve created! Thanks guys for being there for me!

A little before and after of this incredible build. This is still one of our favorite shots, showcasing the corner Pella multi-slider. And this entire build was documented via our daily logs on Buildertrend.

AFTER + BEFORE of this Piano Room at Project !!! For this home, I wanted a trim design different from my previous projects and I decided on rectangle within a rectangle (with the inner trim piece a thinner piece and the four corners all closely installed to make it a bit more modern) - and this pattern was also installed in a few additional spaces in this home (including their Kitchen dining area shown two posts back)!! I love the textured neutral rug and the brass light fixtures and pretty wood flooring warm everything right up!!! Design by Construction by Photo by

The final result always speaks for itself, but there is so much coordination to build these structures and make sure the automation is completely precise. The team at not only field measured this corner slider in the field, but also built a full mock-up at their facility. As the door closes, the large 5 slider doors close first, and then the single door finishes the seal. We will post a video of the door closing for reference. And of course, a knock out design by the team at with photography by Nick Sorensen .

One of my favorite features of this house is the seamless transition of inside to outside. Here in Arizona we like to bring the two different living spaces together. The floating transom is pretty impressive too!

One of our most favorite cabinet designs in this home was right here at the drop zone. A wonderful mudroom/locker to store those shoes, keys, mail and backpacks. And even better that it is just off of the laundry room. You can also see a sneak peek of the beautiful staircase and gorgeous light fixture. Design by the talented team at and photo by Nick Sorensen
