Closets can give you peace or stress you out. The key is being able to find what you’re looking for in a timely manner. Functionality and sustainable organizing makes the difference.
•In winter, colorize clothing from dark to light and summer visa versa.
-There are individual preferences of: sleeveless - tanks & tops together, then short sleeves 👚👕to long sleeves 👔
*We prefer all one color together from no sleeve to long sleeves. It’s easier to keep up with.
•All dresses stay together - short to long and keep with same color scheme.
•Trousers/pants, jeans 👖 stay together.
•Dress or Suit jackets 🧥 hang together or with whole suit.
•Outerwear jackets keep in a hall closet for easy access.
•Clear storage bins are also a great asset in your closet.
And
•Label “everything.”
•Hang belts either on hooks or a hanger with hooks.
•Shoes 🥿👠👡👢👞👟🥾- if you don’t have a shoe rack or shelving for shoes, another great option, is a cupboard for shoes. (if room permits -elsewhere in the home)
•Handbags - hang them on hangers, display them on shelves, or put in a labeled bin.
•Place items you don’t use often on higher shelves - in clear labeled bins.
•Every bedroom should have its own laundry bin or basket. *We will talk about laundry another day.
•Closet clean out - to maintain your organized closet, go through your closet at least once a quarter.
•Finally, a great rule to live by; if a new item comes into the closet, an existing item must go.
