Every design is personal but this one was especially personal because it is for my dear close friend’s daughter. She is a brilliant young woman heading into her senior year of high school. I wanted this design to encompass where she is in her life now and where it is heading in her bright future.

This week her dad went to work to turn her Design Board into life! So I wanted to share this week’s transformation.

The refresh entailed replacing everything in the room except for 2 pieces: her antique vanity, chair set and her antique full length mirror.

The gorgeous Modern Love and Harvest Moon from went up after a couple of primer coats covered the saturated jeweled teal walls.

The French drapery rods from provide great privacy, allowing the stunning vintage drapery panels from to wrap all the way around the windows.

Even from another state, we make sure that all these little details create a well thought out design.

We LOVE selecting unique art work for our clients because it is an area in design where you can really breath in color and personality into a space! And that is the phase we are finally at with our Project. 🎨

Selecting artwork is like putting your wardrobe together. Every piece of clothing plays a part in creating the entire look. Every aspect of design does the exact same thing. It’s a symphony of colors, lines, textures and space that shine best when all parts are playing their role harmonisouly.

We will be commissioning a custom piece from this artist to fit the wall. We will also break this up into 3 panels to add a bit more interest. The great thing about commissioning a piece is that you have creative flow with the colors. My clients were drawn to the organic wave of this piece, so now we will just tweak the colors a bit to perfectly blend it with its surroundings.
