Raising Special Kids, who play a big part in Special Day for Special Kids, celebrated their 40th Anniversary. We had seventeen people from our Scottsdale Sunrise club or guests attend this great event. There was a dinner, speakers from both the present & past Raising Special Kids who outlined the beginning & struggles of their organization, a wonderful special needs woman who shared her story, and Andrew Norelli, a comedian. This was a great event and a wonderful chance to share the success of our partner, Raising Special Kids.

What a great day this year in celebrating Special Day for Special Kids. The weather was questionable on Friday, but the sun came out for the 34th Annual Special Day for Special Kids and everyone had a great time. We had the usual free lunch, drinks, pop corn, ice cream, games, vendors, climbing wall and bouncy things. The petting zoo and pony rides were there. Raising Special Kids got the word out to all special needs families in Arizona. Of course McCormick Stillman Railroad park was a great partner & the Mechanical Society provided FREE train and carousel rides. It was a wonderful day for the kids to enjoy the event. SAVE THE DATE for next year: Sat. Feb. 22, 2020 for the 35th Annual SDSK!
