Wrapping up our series Celebrating the Women of ALINE, we'd like you to meet Heidi Grimwood and Dorota Grodzinska!

𝘚𝘱𝘰𝘵𝘭𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘰𝘯 𝘏𝘦𝘪𝘥𝘪 𝘎𝘳𝘪𝘮𝘸𝘰𝘰𝘥 — 𝘚𝘦𝘯𝘪𝘰𝘳 𝘗𝘳𝘰𝘫𝘦𝘤𝘵 𝘔𝘢𝘯𝘢𝘨𝘦𝘳
Heidi, a creative and experienced registered architect, approaches design by seeking inspiration from the natural environment, strength in simplicity, balance, crisp lines, and utilizing warm natural materials, like wood, in contrast to exposed concrete and steel. A University of Arizona graduate, she has a background in constructing retail and hotel projects across the U.S. Passionate about continuous learning, Heidi enjoys cooking, mixology, various art projects, fitness, biking, connecting with nature, and quality time with loved ones.

Dorota, raised in Poland with a Bachelor's in architecture from Krakow, is a registered architect in Arizona and California and holds a LEED Green Associate certificate. Dorota is passionate about sustainable, timeless and functional design. Her work, inspired by nature, focuses on turning ideas into reality. She enjoys hiking, gardening, traveling, and volunteering in her free time.

Meet Rosie's House: A Music Academy for Children. 🎼 Rosie's House is an amazing organization that shares many of ALINE's values. And we're honored to have had the opportunity to donate design and coordination services for their 15,000-square-foot home in downtown Phoenix, which opened in 2022.

Every year, Rosie's House gives low-income youth access to a wealth of enriching programs: Free music lessons help the kids hone their 𝗰𝗿𝗮𝗳𝘁 and get experience in 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻; healthy meals nourish them, and numerous mentorship and leadership opportunities keep these kids connected to their 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 which is vital.

At ALINE, we're strong supporters of how music education can spark positive change, so we want to extend a big thank you to Rosie's House for making a huge difference in the lives of Phoenix kids.

Who remembers the old Polynesian-style Dairy Queen building? Originally located at McDowell and 68th Street this midcentury gem has a new home and will soon have a new life when it opens as Oliver's restaurant — right next to The Eleanor on Hayden Road — later this year. As fate would have it, we were given the amazing opportunity to give this mid-century architectural gem a new life and street presence.

Meet Fate Brewing Company Tempe 🍻
In each adaptive reuse project, our aim is to repurpose and celebrate the original architecture while incorporating our expertise with modern materials and details to bring the building up to date.

On the outside, we reinvented the building's courtyard into an inviting new patio, extending it towards the street to form an inviting covered patio and a versatile indoor/outdoor bar area.

Inside, we exposed the existing materials and removed a portion of the second level to make a vaulted entry and bar space while creating a mezzanine bar and dining room above.

Exciting developments at Santan Village.😎 We're thrilled to be part of creating Northside in Gilbert, a new destination combining dining, hospitality, and innovative workspaces. Covering almost 20 acres, Northside is designed to make the most of Arizona's great outdoors.

At the east end of the development, two four-story office buildings stand side by side, while a nearby collection of six uniquely designed buildings creates an inviting plaza with interconnected courtyards. The nearly 41,000 sq ft of retail and restaurant space within those buildings creates an enclosed and lively atmosphere to the central plaza. Nestled in the central plaza is a courtyard designed to host a variety of community events and activities — from farmers' markets to food festivals and more. And, not too far away, a hotel will anchor the north end of the new destination.

With thoughtful vehicular access and ample parking, Northside is set to be Gilbert's new go-to spot where shopping, dining, relaxation, and community events come together seamlessly. Stay tuned for an update on construction! 😎
