Did you know that a pile of oily rags can SPONTANEOUSLY COMBUST?!

If you’re using oil-based stains or finishes, it’s really important to dispose of your rags properly to avoid magic chemistry in the form of 🔥 from happening.

Here’s how I dispose of mine:
1. Lay all oily rags on a non flammable surface (concrete is great) to dry out
2. Once they’re dry, throw it in a bucket of water (metal is ideal because it’s not flammable)
3. Throw it in the trash or take it to your household hazardous waste facility if available in your area.

Raise your hand if summer got ya BUSY 🙋‍♀️

I’ve been busy soakin’ up those summer rays and, honestly, the shop’s just too hot this time of year. Even though I haven’t been building as much lately, I have so many projects half built in my head that I can’t wait to work on as the days grow shorter and the rain sets in. One of my favorite ways to plan for my projects is by surfin’ pinterest and putting together a mood board for inspo. Here’s a peek of my mood board for my next project!

Let’s talk hairpin legs…

I love them. They’re a quick way to elevate an ordinary something to an incredibly functional piece of furniture. A trunk becomes a coffee table; a slab of wood becomes a table; a wooden box becomes a nightstand.

This baby is givin’ off alllll the summer grillin’ vibes✨

This project worked up so quick and it was fun to see it all come together. With a couple modifications (or not!), she’d work great as a kitchen island or a plant cabinet 👩‍🍳🌿

Wrapped up this beaut today 🤩

I’m going to apply an epoxy resin to the top in a few weeks when the weather and my schedule are more cooperative - it’ll be my first big epoxy resin finish so let’s hope I don’t ruin it 🤞
