The DWSCO team spent a beautiful afternoon volunteering at the impressive local nonprofit, Furniture Repair Bank.
We were delighted to be put to work in their warehouse space in S**O, and learn about their thoughtful, deliberate process to save furniture from landfills, and transform it into pieces that will be donated to people who need it most.
With our time there, half of the team worked to remove upholstery from a sofa that was ready for a makeover. The other half hand-sanded wooden chairs and legs that will be stained and made into something wonderful. These small manual tasks gave us the chance to connect while contributing to the larger cause.
We loved the opportunity to partner with an organization whose mission centers around community and sustainability – and Furniture Repair Bank is doing amazing things on both fronts, and then some!
