This Healdsburg home was designed as a shared retreat for two families, with each having their own private side and a common living area at the center. Using Stillwater’s established home designs as a starting point, the process was efficient while still allowing the layout to be tailored to how both families spend time together and apart. Stillwater helped coordinate the full team and stayed involved throughout construction, keeping the project on track from start to finish. The result is a well balanced home that supports shared living while maintaining privacy where it matters.

Perched above Lake Chelan, this Stillwater Dwellings home was built by the homeowner, who served as the general contractor throughout the project. Using Stillwater’s established systems, detailed construction documents, and clearly defined scopes, the homeowner was able to manage the build with confidence and a high level of control over decisions, sequencing, and ex*****on.

The modern architecture is paired with a refined finish palette and expansive glazing that captures wide lake views and fills the home with natural light. From early design through fabrication and on site assembly, the process emphasizes clarity and consistency, resulting in a residence that feels deliberate, well crafted, and built with long term performance in mind.

In October 2017, the Tubbs Fire, one of California's most destructive wildfires, caused significant damage, destroying over 5,600 structures. Our latest video explores the aftermath of this disaster, focusing on Kathy Dennet's personal experience. Losing her home and vineyards to the fire, Kathy faced the challenge of rebuilding in the Napa Valley.
Turning adversity into opportunity, Kathy discovered Stillwater Dwellings and began creating 'Wing Canyon 2', a new, eco-friendly home in the scenic hills of Napa. Constructed by her brother, Alan Dennet, of Dennet Construction, this prefab house was designed with ADA accessibility and features advanced solar panels, making it four times more energy-efficient.
