At the end of the hall, this bedroom sits quietly beneath the existing roofline. As with many homes of this style, the tight corners hold the coziest storage nooks.

The architect added two skylights to open up the space and can lights along the vault to layer the lighting. The result is bright, airy, and welcoming — a simple design move that transforms how the room feels.

For this bath, I combined 24x24 terrazzo porcelain floor tiles with a feature wall of 2x6 cerulean blue tiles — their subtle variation adds movement and depth. The remaining walls are finished in classic 6x6s, keeping the space bright and simple.

A warm oak vanity and solid white countertop balance the cooler tones and bring the room together with an easy, natural harmony.

🏡 Bright, modern, timeless

This week’s palette is all about balance — soft neutrals with a confident pop of color.

We’re pairing white 6x6 wall tiles with cerulean blue 2x6s full of color variation, and 24x24 terrazzo-look tiles that bring warmth underfoot. Together they create a refreshing mix of tone and texture that feels clean, calm, and grounded.

At the top of the stairs, this workspace catches the light beautifully ☀️

The new floors steal the show, alongside the architectural lines where multiple ceiling slopes meet. This kind of space can sometimes feel awkward, but the architect’s well-placed windows paired with crisp white walls make it feel calm, bright, and welcoming.

Bath 2, Scheme 1 for this full home remodel 💚

Here, I leaned into the possibility of bold color with a forest green floor tile. The walls, with their soft irregular surface and grout lines, give a nod to the historic nature of the home — bright, white, and handmade in feel. A warm wood vanity keeps the space grounded and approachable.

It’s a blend of history, craft, and confidence — where texture and tone tell the story.

🪵 Warm wood, grounded design
🏠 A nod to the home’s past

This week’s mood board sets the stage for Bath 2 in this full home remodel.

Soft 4x4 white tiles meet bold gemstone green penny rounds and deep rectangular forest tiles — layered with warm maple wood tones, black plumbing fixtures, and a round mirror with a slim shelf. The mix of color and texture feels grounded, bright, and alive.

🌿 Bold, but balanced
🪶 Natural materials + clean lines
💧 A calm rhythm of green and white

Here’s where all those ideas came together! ✨
This final bathroom features the plumbing from option 1, the floor from option 2, and the wall tiles from option 3 — a true collaboration with the homeowners.

From the entry, you can see the toilet tucked under the window, the barn-style glass shower door, and the vanity hugged by the pony wall. The barn-style door makes the small footprint work beautifully, keeping swing space clear while letting us place the plumbing controls on the pony wall — which also hides a shampoo niche for a clean, open view as you walk in.

For this 3D rendering, we balanced the age of the home with the modern, eclectic taste of the homeowners. The variegated tiles bring a timeworn texture that feels grounded, while large-format floors and mid-century modern plumbing fixtures keep things fresh and current.

It’s a thoughtful blend — acknowledging the home’s history while designing for how the family lives today.

🏠 Character + modern comfort
🧱 Aged texture, clean geometry
🌲 Modern warmth for a timeless home

It’s been a busy transition wrapping up summer and getting the boys back to school while juggling some wonderful projects — but I’m excited to dive back in and share where we left off!

We’ve reached the final scheme for the main floor bath — a perfect blend of ideas pulled from all three of the original concepts. This moodboard brings together concrete-look floor tiles, sea glass mint wall tiles from Equipe, and modern black plumbing fixtures with a round light that hints at mid-century style.

Soft, modern, and timeless — all at once.

💧 Calm meets clean lines
🌿 Sea glass tones + concrete texture
✨ A little mid-century flair

Not every element in a home comes from the designer—and sometimes, that’s the magic 💫
This sunny first-floor bench, placed between two windows, wasn't part of my scope, but it fits the space perfectly. The white walls, refinished hardwoods, and tall ceilings frame the moment beautifully.

A quiet detail that invites you to sit, slow down, and enjoy the light.

☀️ Stillness in the sun
🏡 Warm woods + white walls

Here’s how we brought moodboard 3 to life ➡️
In this small bath, the tall ceilings are balanced by dark, variegated floor tiles with a faux-worn finish, while 2x10 soft mint tiles on the walls draw your eye upward. The result? A calm, light-filled space that feels both grounded and open.

We're nodding to the home’s age with earthy textures while keeping the lines clean and modern.

🧱 Tradition in texture
📐 Modern in form
🌿 Grounded + airy

Moodboard 3 of 3 for this full home remodel 🌿
This bathroom scheme pulls from nature with tobacco-hued 6x6 tiles for the floor and long, linear mint-green wall tiles that feel like sea glass. White cabinetry, suede-toned counters, and traditional black fixtures finish off the look with quiet confidence.

🌲 Earthy but bright
🧼 Modern but grounded
💧 Soft color for a strong foundation
