The issue with hidden cost!!!
If you’ve got carpet on the floor and want to change it out for any modular, tongue and groove, floating floor, ect, you must be ready for additional cost. Carpet is very forgiving for uneven sub-floors, it flows right over and the variance is so subtle, you cant tell underfoot.

However, if you’re flooring contractor is going to install at manufacturer specs, they need to do the proper prep work to get the sub-floor flat.

Ask your flooring contractor about potential additional cost. Don’t get married to a price that’s at the top of your budget, then get hit with a hefty change orders bill.
