Boat Bay House

Jupiter was bright in the sky last night, which reminded me of our collaboration with from for a custom installation of their Jupiter Scraplight with its four major moons at the Boat Bay House. It was the perfect fixture for the space, and complements the owner's furnishings and artwork.

And to see the real thing, head outside just after sunset and look for the brightest object in the southeastern sky. Saturn is nearby, too.

Little Creek Residence

It's the detailing that add the subtle touch. Taking the extra time to coordinate the precise alignment of the window with the panels & fasteners was worth the effort. Beside aesthetics, it shows that someone cared enough to pay attention.

Thank you for including our "HFACM: House for a Cabinetmaker" in the latest Houses by Design section. At newstands now. Photos by Ken Gutmaker.

The owner/builder of this house is a cabinetmaker, and maximizing wood products that he could fabricate and install himself was his primary goal. The finished product is a house that is essentially one big cabinet. See more of this wooden wonder, here.
