SCCC Marine Carpentry The Marine Carpentry program is a six-quarter program designed to prepare students for employment in boat building, boat repair or a related trade.

Seattle, a major port and marine-industry hub, is a perfect place to learn boat building. The two-year program provides you the skills to start a career in wood and FRP boat building, boat repair, or related trades. You'll learn lofting and layout, fiberglass lay-up and repair, wood boat construction and repair, and interior and exterior joinery. Jobs are available in custom and commercial boat building shops and repair yards throughout the Puget Sound region.
