The Seattle office was founded in 2010 by principal architect Marlo Brown. Marlo received her Masters of Architecture from Columbia University in 2009 and graduated with High Honors from Smith College in 2006 with a B.A. in Architecture & Urbanism. She has also studied at Harvard Graduate School of Design and the University of Copenhagen in Denmark. She has worked for such esteemed firms as Studio
LUZ, Michielli & Wyetzner Architects, COOP 15, Atelierjones, Axiom Design Build, and Pritzker Prize winner Kazuyo Sejima of SANAA in Tokyo. She has worked on projects in the United States, Japan, France and Dubai. As a Pacific Northwest native, Marlo has been strongly influenced by Asian and Scandinavian styles around the Seattle area and appreciates the Northwest’s willingness to embrace modern architectural form. The natural environment and a drive for architectural elegance are fundamental themes that continually guide the firm’s work locally, nationally and internationally. Marlo is a current member of the Seattle AIA, has been a visiting critic at the University of Washington, and is active with Seattle Design Nerds. She currently resides with her husband in Ballard, Washington.
