In 2002 I bought a few yards of this at our local Walmart and it has covered a table at all the shows we've ever done. We, and this faded piece of material, are retiring this year. Meeting all of you, LEARNING from you, has been one of the best experiences of my life. Because of the work ONPN has done and the talented new growers now on the scene, I am hopeful about the availability of native plants here in Oklahoma.
We will have one last event on June 7th with Bill Farris (a great nurseryman, advice giver, seed sharer, storyteller, friend) at Prairie Wind Nursery, 14901 E Etowah Rd, Noble. More details later. I need to find a Kleenex....

Gearing up for the Jenks show this Saturday and bringing all that was supposed to be at Sand Springs plus LOTS more. It's amazing the difference one week can make in the growth and readiness of plants. Hope to see you there!

Road trip, come see us and other native plant people on May 3rd in McAlester! To top off the day you can make a side trip to Lovera's and then either go to Pete's Place or my favorite, Captain Johns.

We have "done" Sand Springs Herbal Affair for decades and a first has happened this year: Sand Springs has made the decision to CANCEL this year's event due to the threat of extreme weather. Please keep all the wonderful vendors in your thoughts and support them when you can, the Herbal Affair is a vital show for many. We will miss seeing everyone, but will be at the Jenks show on the 26th.

Another fun one that we'll have a few of is this hard to find Sabal minor, the only palm native to Oklahoma.

My very most favorite spring native, Phlox divaricata aka Woodland Phlox. We'll have this and more in Norman this Saturday at STASH! Lots of cool native plant vendors, speakers, and it's always fun to see what STASH has. For more info: onpn.org

It's freezing outside, but in the greenhouse there's a fire in the woodstove, a couple of chickens wandering around, and the Dwarf Red Buckeye is popping up. I really kind of like January.
