Love this…
An open letter to Penn State nation,
Thank you for traveling down to the Lovliest Village on the plains. Although the final score was more lopsided than we wanted, the opportunity to host our first Big 10 opponent was wonderful. You sent the best of the best to represent the Nittany Lions.
I want to personally say thank you for waiting in long lines to try our famous Toomer’s Lemonade, walking our campus and sharing in our tailgates, and for joining us to experience the tradition of Tiger Walk. Best of all, thank you for being in your seats nearly 45 minutes before the game started to see the magic of the eagle 🦅 fly and the roar of our student section.
You didn’t come to Auburn this weekend just to see your lions play, you came to Auburn this weekend to experience all that Auburn has to offer. You packed our streets, made reservations months in advance at our award winning restaurants, got up early to be on SEC Nation’s live show, and you didn’t rub in the L while us tigers tucked tail leaving the stadium. I was all over Auburn Friday and Saturday and prior to the game I heard more people saying “good luck” than trash talking.
I talked to many Penn Staters who had heard secrets about the mystique of this Auburn fan base and traveled to see if it was really true. I hope we delivered on a wonderful weekend of southern hospitality, fun and camaraderie. You are welcome any time. There will always be a fresh squeezed lemonade with your name on it and place to sit at our tailgate.
From our Tigers to your Lions, War Eagle!
