Priest Rd Lateral on the Sequim Prairie Ditch is being shut down today due to low water flow. It will not be back on this season. We are hoping the rest of the ditches can remain until complete shutdown on the 15th of September.

Hi Everyone- Pulse Flow number #3 is set for tomorrow morning at 10am until Sunday afternoon.

ALSO- Repairs are complete on the Main Line so that will be back on as well when the Pulse Flow is complete.

Thank you all for your patience these last couple weeks. And Thanks to the labor crew working overtime on a Holiday Weekend to assess and repair the blow out.

Sequim Prairie Ditch Repair Update

The repair crew will be back in the Sequim Prairie Ditch today and tomorrow reinforcing the walls where the blow out occurred. The ditch will remain closed until complete. Water will potentially be back on Thursday for a test run before the likely Pulse Flow again on Saturday.

Thank goodness Mother Nature is helping us out with these cooler days.

PULSE FLOW #2 SCHEDULED FOR SATURDAY, AUGUST 30TH

We have been notified of another requested Pulse Flow to support the river and aid salmon migration. As a result, the irrigation ditch will be shut down tomorrow (SATURDAY) at 10:00 AM and will remain off until Sunday morning.

Please plan accordingly for your water use during this time. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding as we continue to balance irrigation needs with river health and compliance with agency requirements.

Pulse Flow Shut down Saturday, August 23 at 10am

Hi Everyone- We have been notified by Fisheries that there will be Pulse Flow Shut Downs on the Dungeness River again this year, potentially starting this weekend. They are expecting to run a total of 4 times, depending on conditions. Their decision to run or not is always made late in each week so be prepared ahead of time and watch for emails Thursday or Fridays.

The shutdown will be the same as in previous years. All Dungeness River Water is closed off from our ditches for a period of time each weekend to allow the River to climb. The hope is it will give the spawning salmon a boost to make it upstream. The last couple years fish count results have been very promising and fisheries would like to continue the process in drought years.

Each of the pulse flows will start at 10am Saturday and finish on Sunday morning. These times are when river outtake gates will be changed, not necessarily the times shareholders will be affected depending on your locations. It is quite a process for our board and ditchwalker to shut it all down and bring it back up again in a 24hr period. Please be patient with them. When the ground is dry it takes a bit to get the flow all the way down the laterals and to the outermost reaches. That being said, If you still find yourself without water on Monday, please reach out to us. I will be available by phone or email and will forward any issues on to the board.

Thanks to everyone for your efforts and cooperation.

Hi all, the River is down to 89cfs and still dropping. Independent and Eurecka ditches are both shut down for the season. Sequim Prairie is taking 2cfs versus the 6-8cfs it normally takes during the irrigation year.

09/04/2024

Gary closed the first lateral on the SP ditch today for the season and Eureka is also closed for the season. The river is expected to continue dropping and laterals will be closed as needed to comply with our agreements.
