The markers stand 42 inches tall, 13 inches across and 4 inches thick. Much like the men and women they represent, they stand alone — but together they form a lasting, collective image at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.

I wanted to publicly thank my friend Steve Toohey at Operation:Flags of Freedom for inviting me to his annual Memorial Day celebration at Perry High School to speak about my bill, SB 244 and to share the story of it. For those that don't know, SB 244 was signed into law on March 31st by Governor Dewine, officially making 8/26 "Abbey gate remembrance Day" in the state of Ohio. It was an honor to share the stage with amazing patriots and also to share the names of the 13 Heroes that died at Abbey Gate. It was nice to be there with State Senator Jane Timken as well, she and Senator Kristina Roegner we the ones that took me seriously and pushed my bill forward.
