Tailholt Community Garden

This is a joint collaboration between the Windsor-Severance Fire District, the Town of Severance, and Tailholt Community Gardens, located in Severance, CO.

The Tailholt Community Gardens in Severance were established in 2016 as a Town of Severance community space where residents can grow vegetables, flowers, and plants while connecting with neighbors and enjoying the benefits of gardening together

The Severance Police Department is addressing a concerning series of thefts at the Tailholt Community Gardens over the past few months, where fresh produce, such as tomatoes, pumpkins, and herbs, has been stolen from plots tended by dedicated Severance residents. Located just south of Windsor-Severance Fire Station Number 2 on Timber Ridge Parkway, this garden, is a private resource, restricted exclusively to Severance residents who rent plots and are entitled only to the crops they’ve personally planted; it is not open to the public, and unauthorized taking of produce is considered theft.

While no suspect descriptions are available, we are increasing evening patrols to deter further incidents and encourage gardeners to promptly harvest ripe produce, secure tools, and mark personal items for identification. We urge the community to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the Severance Police Department via our non-emergency line at 970-350-9600 or 911 for emergencies. By joining efforts like the Tailholt Community Garden Facebook group, residents can help protect this valued community space and ensure it remains a thriving resource for those who have invested in it.
