Well today Dad cut a piece of 5/8" plywood for under the new shower base.
Then he installed most of the vertical shiplap on the walls.
Plumber comes tomorrow. Then Ed will work on the tile on Monday & Tuesday. Once the tile is completed. Dad can finish trimming it out and hang the med cabinet & mirror. As well as complete the electrical.

Day two on this bathroom remodel.
Dad pulled the toilet and removed the old drywall around the shower (exposing the plumbing for the plumber to redo on Saturday).
He also rerouted the wiring for the light over the new medicine cabinet. And cut out the ceiling to put in the new exhaust fan. He had to climb up in the attic to run 20 ft. Of vent tube up to the gable vent. (The old exhaust fan literally just dumped into the insulation with no exterior vent).
Then he installed the fluted shiplap on the ceiling. And prepped the walls for the vertical materials being installed tomorrow.

OK!
Besides a little bit of paint touch up we are done with this porch.
The flooring guys were out to look over the job while we were out to lunch and picking up more paint. I told him to get us on their schedual.
The pictures today are of before Dad started this morning and after he finished up.

We are so close!
Just a bit of painting left for Mia to do.
Dad installed the rest of the trim inside of the porch. Then he removed the coach lights on the front (to be reinstalled later). And he stretched and fastened all of the screens. It is ready for the panels and cedar to be installed on the outside.@

Today we made some good progress on the screenen in porch that we are refurbishing.
Mia got most of the painting done. It is taking her longer as she had to wash down everything befor she could paint. And it's just bad enough that she is having to do two coats as well. But it is looking nice and clean!
Dad first worked at running wires. Then he installed the new ceiling ( V-groove barn siding). He also installed two new switches and the 5 new LED pancake lights. And he started running the 1 x 6 band around the inside of the room. Then he will add a quarter round to finish it off.

Mia filled nail holes and painted the half wall, at the top of the stairs, today. Looks nice. Check that off of our list.
Dad cut and installed the treated 2x4's to support the walls that are going around the porch. And he cut the blocking that goes above to attach the screen too.
He also spent a bunch of time trying to figure out where all of the wiring goes and what it is supposed to do. Tomorrow he will run the wiring for the pancake lights that we will be installing in the ceiling.
Mia also finished her day painting on the porch.

We started this multi front project today. Follow and you will see the progress.
Today to start Dad worked to add vertical shiplap on the knee wall along the top of the stairs. This ties it in with the looks on the landing.
Mean while Mia was outside cleaning up what once was a screened in porch area.
The goal is to return it to it's former glory as a screened porch. But in a 2.0 fasion.

Other than that we have it done.

Today we started a new deck project.
This one is a little different in that we were only going to shorten the deck by 6 ft. And extend it out from the house too a full 8 ft.
We were going to use the old frame and beam and buiuld atop of it. Using the existing posts and structure to support the new.
Well when we opened up the old deck all we found was a ton of rot! Even the beam was gone.
So... we had to rebuild the frame anew. And since we were doing that we put new posts in on concrete pads and installed a new 2x12 dbl. beam. The only part that was able to be reused was the stringer attached to the house. We removed it cut it to the new length. And installed it 7" higher. It had the joist hangers already attached. So that was nice.
