I am thankful for the rain. It should keep the dust at bay long enough to smoke a butt. Dark maple and honey chipotle are today's main flavors indirect heat smoked with our usual hickory base and home grown applewood in the pan. Sourdough starter is waking up for some sweet buns and who knows what else I'll come up with. Today is a day to celebrate rain and the relief we feel today.

Sold out, thank you!
Soap bars and canned items are on sale for $1 each. My little air conditioner has been struggling to keep the temp and humidity down so I will not be keeping canned items, soap bars, and shampoo bars out there. The bars of soap that remain have been sweating their oils. They still work and smell good but the boxes are starting to look ugly as they soak the oils in. I will bring my website back up to speed in the coming days and if you call or message me, I will get items ready for you and put a bag in the fridge for pickup. Road dirt and air conditioners don't go well together. If you're stopping in, I will likely be parking my car around back so don't worry, I am still here if you're looking for me.

I'm asking a favor. Please drive past us a little slower. Our buildings are right at the road and we have been inundated with clouds of dust since our road was torn out. We are breathing this air and the dust remediation spray on the road only lasts a few days. Please slow down as you drive past the houses that are close to the road!

I've dug up a large patch of comfrey. If anyone is interested in taking some, you're welcome to it. There are loose plants and also bare roots available. Even a small piece of the root is enough to get it started. Comfrey is also known an knit bone. Its roots can be extracted to make healing salves. The greens are great rabbit food and the roots reach deep to bring up nutrients from below tree roots to help feed orchard trees. Keep an eye on them though as it is an aggressive grower. They grow about 3 feet tall, love sun and tolerate shade, and bumblebees love the purple flowers. I am located west of Shell Lake, WI, just south of Hertel. Message me if you need the store address. I will put them in a container on the porch of the store for a couple of days, take what you want!

I have two new soaps for the season. Black Raspberry Vanilla and Tangerine Grapefruit. The Black Raspberry Vanilla is a subtle berry and vanilla combination that is sweet but not overpowering, and the Tangerine Grapefruit is a vibrant citrus with a sweet tangerine addition. Both are great but I'm leaning toward the tangerine for summer.

We roadtripped today and brought home some spicy friends. They're the bees' knees! Sorry, couldn't help it. Ive wanted to try this variety for a while and this is the year. We're loaded up with adorable chicks now too because chicken math and chicken addictions are real over here. Next week holds a special date for me so I've been back at it in celebration. Let our next stage begin!
