🏠 Quick homeowner tip: Take a look at the caulk around your windows and doors.

If it's cracked, pulling away, or missing in spots, moisture may have an easier path into your home than you think.

A few minutes of inspection today could help prevent bigger repairs later.

🎨 What Is Limewash? 🎨

Limewash is a centuries-old finish made from crushed limestone and water. Unlike paint, it absorbs into brick and masonry rather than sitting on the surface.

The result?
✔ Soft, natural color variation
✔ A timeless, aged appearance
✔ Beautiful texture and character
✔ A breathable finish for masonry surfaces

Limewash can be a great option for brick, stone, and stucco—but proper preparation and the right products are key to lasting results.

Have you seen a limewashed brick home in person? Would you use it on your home? 👇

🌿 Color of the Week: Sherwin-Williams Succulent SW 9650 🌿

Some colors make a statement.
Others make a home feel calm, grounded and welcoming.

Succulent SW 9650 does both.

This soft, earthy green adds depth and warmth without feeling too dark or overwhelming, making it a beautiful choice for living rooms, bedrooms, bathrooms, cabinetry and cozy nature-inspired spaces.

Pair it with:
▫️ White Sand SW 9582
▫️ Warm Winter SW 9506
▫️ Carriage Stone SW 9614

Together, this palette creates a timeless, balanced look that feels comfortable and elevated at the same time.

And honestly? Succulent feels like the paint color equivalent of someone who owns matching Tupperware lids. Quietly impressive.

When someone hires a professional, they’re not just paying for paint or materials — they’re paying for knowledge, experience and knowing the job is being done correctly from start to finish.

That means:
• proper preparation
• using the right products for the surface
• understanding moisture and repair issues
• applying coatings correctly
• and knowing when a “quick fix” won’t actually hold up

The goal should never be to simply make something look good for now.
It should be making sure it still performs and protects your home long after the job is done.

Quick homeowner tip: If you notice tiny cracks forming where your wall meets the ceiling, it doesn’t always mean foundation trouble. Seasonal temperature and humidity changes can cause normal expansion and contraction in drywall and framing.

Some cracks are cosmetic. Some are your house asking for attention. The trick is knowing the difference. 👀

COLOR OF THE WEEK 🎨

This week’s featured color is Dark Knight SW 6237 by Sherwin-Williams — a rich, moody blue that adds depth and sophistication without feeling too dark or overwhelming.

We paired it with:
• Obi Lilac SW 6556
• Mint Condition SW 6743
• Samovar Silver SW 6233

Together, this palette feels calm, modern and just a little dramatic in the best way. Perfect for bedrooms, offices, powder rooms or anyone wanting a bold color that still feels timeless.

Would you try a color palette like this in your home?

YouTube tutorials make home repairs look WAY easier than they actually are sometimes 😅

There’s a big difference between “I watched a 30-second video.”
and “I am fully prepared to repair my own drywall.”

Be honest — what home project humbled you the fastest?

And if you've had a recent DIY gone sideways, we can help! Link for an estimate in the comments.

Not all exterior paint fades the same way — and there’s usually a reason behind it. ☀️

Here are 3 common reasons exterior paint fades unevenly:

1️⃣ Sun Exposure
Areas that get direct sunlight for most of the day — especially south- and west-facing sides — take a much bigger UV beating. Darker colors tend to show fading faster because they absorb more heat and sunlight.

2️⃣ Moisture & Weather Exposure
Sections exposed to heavy rain, snow buildup, sprinklers or poor drainage can wear differently than protected areas. Moisture slowly breaks down paint binders over time, leading to uneven color loss.

3️⃣ Paint Quality & Previous Application Issues
Lower-quality paints, improper prep work or uneven paint thickness can all cause some sections to age faster than others. If surfaces weren’t cleaned or primed correctly before painting, fading and breakdown may happen sooner in certain spots.

A little fading over time is normal. Uneven fading usually means the exterior is aging differently depending on exposure and condition.

Bathroom paint matters more than most homeowners think. 🚿

Bathrooms deal with constant moisture, humidity and temperature swings — and the wrong paint finish can lead to peeling, bubbling or walls that are impossible to clean.

Here’s a quick guide:

• Flat/Matte: Usually not ideal for bathrooms because it absorbs moisture more easily.
• Eggshell: Better, but still not the best for high humidity spaces.
• Satin: A solid choice for most bathrooms — durable with a softer look.
• Semi-gloss: Most moisture-resistant and easiest to wipe down, especially for busy family bathrooms.

And don’t forget — proper ventilation matters just as much as the paint itself. Even the best paint can struggle in a bathroom with poor airflow.

What finish do you currently have in your bathroom? 👀
