On the Banks of Bear Creek

On the Banks of Bear Creek Our family is beginning our new homesteading journey on the banks of Bear Creek, outside of Shellsburg, Iowa.

We are growing an orchard, raising goats and poultry, gardening, tapping and producing maple syrup, and also tending to our bee hives.

Hey, sorry been a bit MIA on this page.

Been busy with Orchard 🍎🍏work-pruning and spraying. Preparing for future improvements. Studying for my FAA license for drone sprayer and my pesticide certification.

Growing my farm recently- added a white peacock🦚 and I now have a pair of Ayem Cemani along with BCM eggs in the incubator. Also growing our future garden plants from seed along with prepping the new and old garden space for this year‘s garden plans. Keeping busy and loving my life. ❤️

I shared this last week but had forgot to post here as well.

Disappointing discovery today - Sadly, I have lost all 4 of my bee hives and Doug lost his four hives at this location as well. We will be tearing down the boxes to investigate probable causes in the near future.
