The weather is beginning to get cooler, with chillier nights and mild days. We've heard several people saying winter is coming, but fall is here now and its a great time to plant most types of trees. The Garden Store is open and is having a sale on deciduous trees, 50% off! (This sale does not include Japanese Maples or evergreens.) Not sure what we have in stock? Stop by the Garden Store or call and we can help to answer your questions. We also have perennials on sale for 40% off and a nice selection of shrubs available to chose from.
The Garden Store hours will be limited beginning November 1st, so please call ahead of time if you want to stop out during the month of November so we can be sure that someone will be able to assist you.

The question has been asked recently, "When will you have mums in?" The answer is, NOW!!! Our mum order just arrived and we are excited at how good they all look. We have a good mix of blooming and well budded currently going on so whether you are looking for instant color right now, or color in the next few weeks we have you covered. We have several sizes currently in stock, including the traditional 8" mum pans, our highly popular 6 pack mums (great for tucking into pots where the summer annuals are fading out), 10" Hanging Baskets (new for us this year), and a couple of JUMBO mums (12" pot with 28" heads!) We also have Decorative Fall Combo Pots that consist of a seasonal ornamental grass, a mum, cabbage, caladium, and rex begonias. If your wanting to get mums this fall don't wait too long because these will be gone quick!

Stop in and see what's blooming at the Garden Store! This week we are highlighting Rose Mallow, also known as Hardy Hibiscus. These are cultivars of our native Hibiscus moscheutos and are blooming right now. They tolerate most soils, except incredibly dry soils and thrive very well in wet soils (they can handle being 6" deep in water). This makes them a great plant for along the edge of a lake or pond, or that wet are in your landscape that you just don't know what to put there.
* Summer Carnival- 7" dark magenta pink flowers. The foliage is variegated with a narrow cream margin and edges have a hint of pink blush.
* Dark Mystery- 8-9" white flowers with a cherry red eye and dark pink veining. The foliage is heart shaped, and an incredibly dark wine purple color that contrasts beautifully with the flower.
* Airbrush Effect- 8-8.5" vibrant pink flower with salmon tones have an airbrushed central white halo and small dark red eye. Green foliage.
