We're all moved in to our home in Richmond, VA (we'll, really Short Pump) and the baking has already begun!

The first thing I made in our new apartment was a batch of blueberry muffins that my husband and I could split for breakfast for the week - he started his new job on Monday and he's already loving it! I've been busy unpacking but I'll make sure to post a kitchen tour once I get everything settled ❤

Bonus points if you can spot the hungry little cat in the background 😄

Back from an awesome birthday weekend at the beach with my best friends and 27 is already off to an awesome start! Just wanted to post a couple of close ups of my birthday cake ☝

One of my personal mottos over the past few years has become "Simplify, simplify" (shout out to all the Thoreau fans and other transcendentalists on the gram ✌) - I've never been one for frilly decorations like fondant or gum paste (no shade, but I don't think I'm that talented and I also don't think they taste that good) so, when it comes to decoration, I would rather go with simple, bright, beautiful blooms! I would love to make more cakes like this one ❤

And, in case you haven't heard the big news; we're moving! Richmond, VA, here we come!

I'm going back to school - starting seminary in the fall (bet y'all didn't know your girl was into Theology, did ya?) and my husband has found an amazing new job - ecstatic doesn't begin to describe it!

We will definitely miss our NC family but we are so excited to bring sweet things to our new home - more updates as they come!

The best cookie on the planet is Oatmeal Raisin and you will NEVER change my mind. They have it all; lil chewy (when made correctly) lil spicy, lil salty, lil sweet, lil burst of fruit - DIVINE!

Love of oatmeal raisin cookies is one thing the Brown siblings have in common - so I made some recently to thank my little brother for helping me with some stuff around the house. Now he’s moving away so I’ll be baking a batch to leave with him at his new apartment 😭😭

Big love to all my oatmeal raisin lovers out there - y’all are the realest and everyone else is just missing out ♥️

Whipped up a tart and tangy lemonade bundt cake for G-Ray's retirement party the other day - next time I'm going to brush the glaze on so I get a nice even coating 👍

Around these parts, it's the last day of school - so we're celebrating! And what better way to celebrate than with cake? 🎂🍰

I was actually really proud of how Grace's Sweet 16 cake turned out - it was a vanilla cake with vanilla, American buttercream and a strawberry buttercream filling with a little strawberry puree dabbed between the layers to keep the cake nice and 🌟 moist 🌟 (which I know is no one's favorite word but it's definitely a word you want people to use to describe a cake you've made 😄).

Easily one of the prettiest cakes I think I've ever made!

I loved the way they turned out - I had never made blueberry frosting before and it had been a hot minute since I made mini cupcakes but they were absolutely adorable and a huge hit at Grace's Sweet 16!
