Unfortunately there are a ton of landscape contractors (letās use that term loosely, here) that apparently canāt read. But hey, theyāre as cheap as their flower beds are temporary.
Also, while weāre here, letās talk about wateringā¦
Arbitrary watering daily, every other day, or whatever schedule you choose likely isnāt the best option as soil conditions will dictate frequency.
You see, in northwest Louisiana, we have heavy clay soil, and this is a problem for excessive watering. Clay retains a TON of moisture. Even after a few dry days, your soil could still be plenty moist. Watering again, repeatedly, can lead to issues like root rot. These can often be more detrimental than under watering.
While it takes a little more effort, your best practice for watering is actually testing your soil, which is a simple process. Merely pull back some mulch or pine straw and touch the soil. If the top 1ā-2ā is dry, water (deeply). If itās moist, leave it alone.
Save some money and water smarter. Any questions, feel free to reach out!
