A groundbreaking was recently held for our project with DeSoto Parish, the new Detention Center & Sheriff's Office. The project includes a new 150 bed detention center and new Sheriff's office space. The project is valued at about $10 Million.

Newman Marchive Architects and Building Environmental Consultants announced that the demolition and abatement of the former Waggoner Federal Building project in Shreveport has started. This will be the site of future construction for the new State Office Building. The demolition and environmental work is scheduled to last about ten months. This project consists of asbestos abatement, interior demolition, and demolition of the parking garage. The foundations and steel structure will remain for a phase 2 project. Project managers for this project are Lauren Marchive III, Architect and Brady Henderson, Environmental Consultant.

The multistory building presents unique design challenges in scaffolding, containments, and procedures that the architect and contractor must manage during the contract period. The contractor is Gill Industries.
