Your beautiful cauliflower, broccoli and cabbage you got here and planted in March and April should be nearly ready to harvest or completed.

Time to plant your next crop in which it could be beans to follow your early cold crops. Great for adding nitrogen naturally into the soil.

We have both organic and regular bean seeds in small and larger packs. Bush or pole Kentucky Wonder, yellow, green or burgundy which cook bright green and are great fresh, frozen or canned.

This is the selection we currently have this week. Next cole crops get planted July to Aug for Sept and Oct harvest time when cooler.

It is SUNFLOWER planting time. We have all of these sunflower varieties to choose from. The last 6 are even organic varieties plus a jumbo size of mix and jumbo size of mammoth are available.

The soil temperature is just right to direct seed. How about a sunflower fort for children or several different kinds for beautiful cut flowers this year.

Nasturtiums: Natural defense for insects plus they are edible. Deer and rabbit resistant too. Use in vegetable gardens or container combinations.

Outside temperature is now good for planting these. Sprouts in 7 to 10 days.

Flowers and leaves are edible. Plant in vegetable garden to deter cucumber beetles, whiteflies, aphids and squash bugs. Also cabbage loopers, flea beetles and others. Plant on garden perimeter to be a "trap crop" for aphids to attract beneficial predatory insects that will feed on pests.

Alaska variegated is beautiful 2 tone leaves 10 to 12".

Fiesta colorful 2 tone blooms 10 to 12"

Purple Emperor Gorgeous shades of burgundy and antique rose shades. Great for trellis or upright growth 6 to 7'

Tall Trailing Mixed colors cream, yellow, apricot, and red shades. 6 to 10'. Great for rambling, obelisk or trellis.

PASSION VINES Do you know story behind them? Unique and beautiful flowers plus edible fruit.

The story:

The 10 petals and sepals represent the 10 apostles who remained faithful (excluding Judas and Peter)

The Corona filaments: the fringed spiky ring represents Jesus crown of thorns.

The 5 Anthers: Represent the Five Sacred Wounds of Christ, (hands, feet and side)

The 3 Stigmas: The 3 knob-like structures at the top represent the 3 nails used to hold Jesus to the cross.

The Tendrils: Represent the whips used during the scourging of Christ.

The Vine: Symbolizes God's attachment to earth.

Don't miss out growing your own 'Possum Purple' Passion Vine. This is a cold hardy cultivar. This plant goes back into the 1600's and was explained by Spanish Christian Missionaries.

(Currently not in bloom but nice full healthy plants with trellis) Get your before they are gone. Will bloom spring until fall. Fruit follows the blooms. Vigorous fast growing vine.

COSMOS time... plant now for summer and fall blooms. Ground temperatures are now getting warm enough to direct seed. These are show stopping varieties. Germination is 6 to 10 days. Easy to grow as that is why they mix them in wildflower collections.

Some varieties only a few packs left. They range in height from 24" to 4'.

Stunning new colors of peach, red, 2 tone or double blooms. Mix several colors together. Can be used for cut flowers in bouquets and in a wide range of colors.
