We had a couple super windy days in March, Then an early Ohio summer fakeout, then the expected early May freeze. But the hoophouse is rebuilt and we are bringing in plants, though still getting organized. In other words another crazy spring trying to play catch up. The music speakers still sound good though!

Alright friends, this has been a popular topic for me to discuss: are we in the clear to plant our flowers into the ground since we have had so many warm days lately? Some of y'all failed to resist the urge and planted already.

The answer is NO! Don't plant your flowers into the ground yet, and I have lots of meteorological evidence to suggest a colder weather pattern will return to begin the month of May. Quite a bit of the data suggests frosts and freezes may still be on the table into early May, and the odds of below-normal temperatures are high as a large trough dives southward, allowing colder air from the north to dive into the Greater Lima Region.

The widely accepted rule in Ohio is to wait until Mother's Day to plant flowers! Resist the urge! I believe in you! And if you have already planted... well, I suggest having a blanket on standby to cover the plants when the colder air arrives!
