Pawpaw Tree 👴🏻🌳 3 gallon - $49.99
Asimina triloba is a small North American tree famous for producing the largest edible fruit native to the continent. It thrives in temperate climates, producing sweet, custard-like fruits that weigh anywhere from 5 ounces to 2 pounds and taste like a blend of banana, mango, and pineapple.

Pawpaw fruits ripen in late summer to early fall and their pulp is prized for eating, baking, smoothies, and icecream. The flowers must be cross-pollinated (you need two to make fruit), and are pollinated by flies and beetles rather than bees, as the blooms emit a faint, pungent odor.
🦋
Pawpaw trees are considered deer resistant and grow 15 to 30 foot tall and wide. In the wild, they often form dense colonies called "patches" by spreading through underground root suckers. Pawpaw trees are incredibly cold-hardy, thriving in zones 5 through 9. They prefer deep, moist, well-drained, and slightly acidic soil.
🦋
While they are naturally understory trees that handle partial shade, they produce the best fruit yields when planted in full sun. Young trees require shade protection for the first few years. Pawpaw trees are also a host plant for the zebra swallowtail butterfly.
