A little surprise gift for my youngest client this week🎀.

I picked up this book 📚 for her cause I thought it would be the perfect way to encourage her as she continues creating a space she loves. I can’t wait to hear how she does with this it!
Book: The Home Edit for Teens (ages 9-12)

When every item has a story…

This session was a fun and challenging one. It was special .❤️ This little client had become emotionally attached to many many of her belongings and every item seemed to have a special story behind it. As you can imagine, it had started to feel overwhelming not only for her, but for Mom as well.

Together, we worked through it one step at a time.
By the end of the day, she had chosen 4 bags to donate & I couldn’t have been more proud of her. 🥹

Every child is different, but over time I’ve found a method that helps kids who struggle with letting go of things. It turns what can feel like an emotional experience into one that builds confidence instead.

Keep a donation box somewhere in your home at all times. I promise you, there is ALWAYS something to get rid of.

You’re doing a quick pickup and notice a decorative pillow that’s faded. Toss it in.

You grab a shirt and realize you haven’t worn it in forever. In the box it goes.

That kitchen utensil you keep moving out of the way but never actually use? You know where that needs to go. 😃

As you’re doing your daily cleaning or simple everyday chores in your home and come across things you no longer need, use, or love, put them straight into your donation box.

When the box gets full → put it in the car → drop it off.

You’re decluttering your home little by little without turning it into one huge overwhelming project. ☺️

Every organized space starts with one simple decision: where do I begin? 🤔 That’s how this closet started.

Confession… my organizer brain immediately zoomed in on the store hangers, so before I folded a single shirt I started with removing all of them.
See in photos👀🤣.

I started in small sections and every piece of clothing was rehung on matching hangers, all facing the same direction, and grouped by color before moving on to the next section.

Once the hanging clothes were finished, I tackled the folded items. I folded everything neatly, separated work jeans from everyday jeans, and arranged them from light to dark to make getting dressed quicker and easier. T-shirts were folded neatly, color coordinated, and placed in linen bins where they were easy to grab.

And because this closet doesn’t have drawer storage I placed these plastic drawers in the center to organize athletic skirts, belts, and sleepwear.

Shoes? Stored neatly in a shoe organizer bin under her bed. Easily slides out and the lid is clear so she can see exactly what shoes are in the organizers.

HOW DO I FIT A PLAYROOM, A SMALL BUSINESS, AND A LIVING ROOM INTO ONE ROOM? 👇🏼

This space needed to function as a kids play area, inventory storage for a small business, and a living room… all without adding extra square footage.
Possible? Of course!

The best part?
This client didn’t buy a single organizing product. Everything you see were items the client already had.
By sorting, editing, creating zones, and giving everything a designated area I was able to transform a crowded room into a space that works for 3 purposes.

Because organization isn’t always about buying more bins. It’s about making your home work better for you.

There’s something so satisfying about turning an overwhelming space into something calm, functional, and easy to maintain. This bunk room closet just needed a little reset.

Some spaces call for a more aesthetic approach, while others simply need better systems using what’s already there and both can be beautiful.
