Happy Mother’s Day to my wife.

From holding our babies for the first time…
to raising them into who they are today…

You’ve been the constant through it all.

The one who shows up every day, no matter what.
The one who puts everyone else first.
The one who makes this family what it is.

I see it. I appreciate it. And I’m grateful for you.

We’re lucky to have you.

Happy Mother’s Day ❤️

Last fall, I fell through these steps.

Not because they “looked bad” — but because the structure underneath was completely rotted out.

That’s the part most people miss.

Decks and stairs don’t fail from the top down…
they fail from the inside out.

By the time you *see* a problem, you’re already in the danger zone.

Here’s what we did instead:

• Full tear-down to expose real conditions
• Rebuilt framing with proper load support
• Eliminated rot-prone details
• Built it to handle Midwest weather — not just look good for a season

This isn’t a “cosmetic fix.”
This is a structural rebuild designed to last.

If your stairs feel:
• Soft
• Spongy
• Slightly bouncy
• Or “just a little off”

Don’t wait.

That’s how accidents happen.

If you want a real assessment (not a guess), message me **“STAIRS”** and I’ll take a look.

Progress on this riverfront deck.

What started as a resurfacing quickly turned into a full rebuild once we opened it up and found structural rot throughout the framing.

From there, it was a step-by-step process:
• Demo back to solid structure
• Rebuild the frame correctly
• Set proper support and layout
• Install new decking built to last

Now you’re looking at a structure that’s not just clean on top—but solid underneath.

That’s the difference most people don’t see.

Projects like this aren’t about making it *look* better…
They’re about making sure it *is* better.

If you're planning something similar, just know—the real work is what happens before the finished photos.

This one started as a simple deck resurfacing.

New boards, clean it up, make it look good again.

But once we removed the old decking… the real story showed up.

Rot.
Compromised framing.
Structural areas that were no longer safe to build on.

At that point, it’s not a “cosmetic” project anymore—it’s a structural one.

This is the part most people don’t see:
A good contractor doesn’t just cover problems… they stop and fix them the right way.

We rebuilt the frame so this deck isn’t just better looking—it’s solid, safe, and built to last.

If you're planning a project, understand this:
What’s underneath matters more than what’s on top.

Caught this guy hanging out on the jobsite the other morning.

Even on a quiet day, there’s always something going on behind the scenes.

Remodeling isn’t much different—progress isn’t always loud, but the right steps are happening in the right order.

That’s how good projects stay on track.

Planning something this year? Make sure the process is just as solid as the end result.

No April Fools joke.
Around 6 years ago I started doing construction work during the pandemic as Chris Pierce Construction while my full time job was shut down. I kept it going after the shutdown ended. 4 years ago I left my job to run Chris Pierce Construction as a full time business. My first day was April 1, the day was not lost on me. In the last 4 years I’ve met some great clients and wonderful business owners who have helped me along the way. When I started I didn’t realize how much I didn’t know about running a business, I knew carpentry but not the business side of things. If you have helped me , supported me by liking and sharing my post or have became a client, Thank You.
Here is a picture of my current project.

The shower was added as an afterthought, and it showed moisture was getting behind the walls in creating prompts. You couldn’t see until it was too late. We fixed the root of the issue and rebuilt it right away. That’s the difference between a quick fix and remodel that last .
