Now is the time to hire a roofing expert to do your repairs. Never hire someone who doesn’t guarantee their work. The companies that come here only for the summer wont come back when you have a leak.

Storm season is just around the corner and that can mean hail damage. Most people can’t easily see hail damage on asphalt shingles. Here’s the secret to that; look at where your downspouts empty out. If there are a bunch of granules there then they’ve come off the shingles reducing their useful life aka hail damage. The granules will also be in your gutters like this picture.

Finding people who will do roofing is hard. Long days in the hot sun and it’s usually 15 degrees warmer on the roof. They are heroes! Can you imagine if you had to do that work yourself. Just the blisters would drive me crazy.

If only they came with a board stretcher 🤣🤣🤣

Roofs are one of the most costly repairs on a house. Make sure when you have work done that you ask to see it before and after. Scared to get in the roof. Here’s how…
1) make the roofer go up before you
2) make them hold the ladder from the top.
3) take a deep breath.
4) just one step after another and DON’T look down.
5) when you get to the top have someone hold your hand while you step into the roof.
6). Sit down for a bit and get your bearings.
7) it takes about 30-45 minutes to get comfortable. 😎
8. ) stay away from the edge
9) when getting back on the ladder face the roof and watch your step.

True story. My husband gets a call about a suspected leak. The paint has bubbled in the sheetrock wall where the seam is. Yes, there is water running down the inside of the wall. The homeowner is concerned about a costly repair. My husband looks up at the canned lights in the ceiling and asks if those are old lights. Yes, they had old style light bulbs which burn close to 200 degrees. The warmth melts the snow and if there is an ice dam outside the water ends up going down tha wall. He tell the homeowner just change the lightbulbs to LED
Lights which burn much cooler. The homeowner was shocked and only had to buy a few light bulbs.

It’s said that if you want to know what the weather’s going to do ask a roofer. Their livelihood depends on it. A good roofer will never leave your roof open to the elements is there’s rain coming.
