I have new Watercolor Batik artwork at East Bank Art Gallery including a couple Sioux Falls landmarks!! These are created on delicate rice paper using melted wax as a resist for the watercolor!

Diorama Spring Easter Goose Eggs!! If you were not able to stop by the pop up on Sat the remaining eggs can still be seen at Wild Peach & Co. In the Harvester bldg. SFalls. Easter cards and kits are still available too!
Eggs and cards are great for Easter baskets, hostess gifts. Etc. Card kits would be fun to let the kids create!!

On International Women’s Day, we share the Lakota teaching of Winyan — woman, life-giver.

“The word winyan is connected to many other words. Winyan represents birth, the beginning. If you look closely, you will see that Inyan, the first Creation, is similar to winyan. It is the Rock Nation, the core of Mother Earth. Maka, Earth, is a sacred woman. She gives birth. She gives us life. She is the archetype for all woman. Then there are other words that contain the same root: kinyan--the verb to fly. Wakinyan is a description for the thunderbirds. These words are also connected. Wakinye is ‘I am flying.’ Wakinyan becomes a noun meaning the thunder spirits. Some people call them the thunderbirds. Wakinyan and winyan contain the root word Inyan because they resemble the oldest being. They, too, have the potential to give life and nourishment.”
