Fun fact: The first fraternal benefit society in the U.S. was founded in 1868! This “fraternity” provided members with life insurance protection for their dependents.

Just 15 years later, Joseph Cullen Root founded Modern Woodmen of America. To this day, we continue to protect families through life insurance and offer social and volunteer opportunities for members.
