The WasteShed Evanston is on the move! Our northside location needs a new home, and we need your help!

Since the collapse of our partner organization, Rebuilding Exchange, in October of 2025, it has become increasingly clear that our little corner of their former warehouse on Hartrey Ave is no longer an appropriate home for our northern outpost.

We're moving on, and working our hardest to find a new space that will support our programs and our community. We need your help to get there! Our goal is to raise $30,000 by April 30th to cover moving expenses and the transition to the new space (and hopefully not a prolonged closure like our last move 😅)

Did you know? 😱 All Illinois residents now have convenient, free options to dispose of paint. PaintCare has officially launched in Illinois! PaintCare makes it easy to dispose of leftover latex and oil-based household paint. Funded through a small fee added to the purchase of new paint, the program sets up FREE, convenient drop-off sites where residents and businesses can bring unused paint instead of throwing it away. Once collected, the paint is sorted, reused, recycled, or disposed of responsibly, helping reduce waste and protect the environment. You will not be charged to drop off acceptable paint at participating locations!

📍 Most Sherman-Williams stores, including the Northbrook location, accept latex and oil-based household paint. However, it’s recommended to call ahead and ask if they can accept the type and amount of paint you would like to recycle.

What a great resource for my clients! Check it out

Did you know?! You can recycle those unwanted textile scraps (and solo socks) at Thrift House Junior League of Evanston-North Shore , 920 Chicago Ave! The non-profit resale shop takes anything made of fabric and sends it to a textile recycling company. They accept sheets, shower curtains, torn clothes, unmentionables, and even shoes. The organization gets a few cents back per pound, and it diverts the items from the landfill. Drop offs are accepted anytime during regular business hours!
