3/10/26 - There it is! The NWS has issued a wind advisory for all of the Puget Sound lowlands for tomorrow's incoming storm. It will be in effect from 3 PM tomorrow to 6 AM Thursday. Southwest winds 25-30 MPH with gusts to 50 MPH possible. "Winds in areas from Everett north will switch to north-westerlies at 25 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph between 8 PM and 11 PM Wednesday." The advisory for the coast and Strait of Juan de Fuca goes into effect at 6 PM Wednesday and continues until 6 AM Thursday. Gusts up to 55 MPH can be anticipated there. This alert also includes the Cascade foothills, Kitsap peninsula, and southwest interior.

5:30PM: I am becoming increasingly concerned about the strong west surge of wind that is likely to occur later tonight. As of now, it is looking like the onset of that surge will be about 11PM for north Port Angeles, and Sequim. And then 12AMor so for Whidbey and Camano Island, west Skagit and Snohomish County. If this verifies, gusts over 60mph out of the west will hit Whidbey, and gusts over 50mph+ out of the west will hit west Snohomish and Skagit counties. It will also head into the foothills and mountains.

**attached in the comments is a link to where you can search for your town and what alerts you are under. I won’t have time to answer everyone’s questions as I am about to chase.”

If this verifies, even 5-10mph weaker than this will be damaging with the saturate soils. That and Snohomish County in particular does not do well with strong westerly wind. I hate to say it, but what is showing in the models kind of reminds me of November 4th 2022. One thing that event had going for it was leafs still on some trees, and the trees were brittle after a long dry summer and early Autumn. What tonight has going for it is super saturated soils. Let’s just hope the model is overdoing the wind by a lot, but prepare for the worst. Charge your devices, etc. I will be out watching for this later to see how it comes in and will be reporting. The forecast for the rest of the state remains on track, and almost everywhere has some kind of wind headline.
