๐ŸŽ โ€œLess is moreโ€ works especially well when kids and adults are struggling with ADHD.

Today, I met with a mom who is very overwhelmed. She spoke honestly of how any attempt to organize this play area hasnโ€™t worked; bins immediately get tossed to the ground, items get scattered about, and broken bits and pieces of toys gather and grow into piles.

We had a deep discussion about goals; if kids can easily clean up at school, why is it so tough at home? Is abundance always a good thing? How can a parent with ADHD guide a child with ADHD?

She told me she dislikes throwing anything away. And I encouraged her to explore how minimizing by donating or discarding things will likely bring her the calm sheโ€™s seeking.

Iโ€™ve given her some homework to complete before I come back to start organizing the space. Just 30 minutes, working in a tiny spot. We have to start small for her to feel and see the progress.

We had an incredibly productive hour-long call ~
we started with the bare basics, created a simple plan to address a small space, and this sweet mom has some homework to do.
