Assist residential design team serving homeowners in Westchester and surrounding areas to realize their dream homes through major home improvement and renovation projects.
Description
- Work in a collaborative office environment to gain skill in the architectural design of construction plans. Home improvement projects include interior renovations, additions, new deck, patio and pool installation and exterior improvements.
- Conduct site visits to take field measurements and learn to draft existing conditions layouts and proposed project layouts.
- Receive training in design software like BlueBeam Revu, AutoCAD and 3D Matterport Imaging.
- Learn how local zoning laws apply to design and prepare applications for submission to building departments to acquire construction permits
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
College student or enthusiastic intern interested in residential architecture, interior design, home construction, cabinetry design or related field
- 1 year experience AutoCAD (Preferred)
- 1 year experience Chief Architect (Preferred)
Additional Tasks
- Online research of properties for zoning, boundaries, views and other characteristics
- Support workflow of office administration via answering, redirecting and taking emails and phone calls as necessary, scan and file documents and prepare building permit application packages
Work Location
- One office location (Somers, NY)
- Regular site visits to clients’ homes
- Must have car and valid driver's license for transportation to site visits and building departments
Hours
- 15 to 25 hours per week
