The fastest way to get to the Italian coastline from East Boston is no longer Logan Airport. It’s La Tavernetta.

Congratulations to the team on their opening. We’re incredibly grateful to have been part of this project and to help bring this vision to life. It’s always special to see a space go from idea to reality, and even more special when it becomes a place that feels like an escape right in the neighborhood. The room is nothing short of magic, especially with the changing of the light at sunset and some of the best views of Boston.

came alive for Art Night Market and reminded us exactly why we love designing spaces like this. When great food and drinks are flowing, artists are showing off their work, and people are packed in together discovering something new, the architecture fades into the background and the magic takes over.

Spaces are just the stage. Nights like this are the show. Bringing people together is the whole point.

in person dining is back! Yes, we’re very excited about it. And if you’re in the know, you are too.

We were incredibly grateful for and relied on Cafe Sushi to go to help get us through the pandemic. But let’s be honest, nothing beats sitting in the space, being treated to warm Cafe Sushi hospitality, and eating this food the way it was meant to be.

We’re proud to have partnered with our friends at Cafe Sushi on another project for this updated iteration of a Cambridge classic. The neon still glows, the vibe is lively, and the James Beard nominated food is better than ever. The sushi bar has transformed into a sake bar, expanding the beverage program with more delicious sake offerings to pair with every bite. After ten years of friendship and collaboration, it’s pretty special to see guests back where they belong.

Do yourself a favor and go visit. Grab a seat and savor the space, the food, and the pours. 🍣🍶

A little festive chaos, lots of laughs, and plenty of cookies. Moments like these remind us how lucky we are to do work we love with people we genuinely enjoy. Grateful for this team and the joy we find in creating together.

Chocolate Shop Opening!

Nothing sweeter than a chocolate shop opening just in time for the holidays. , the beloved New England four-generation family chocolatier, has officially opened its newest shop in Newton MA, and we’re thrilled to have helped bring it to life.

Set inside a historic bank building, the new store pairs classic architectural character with a fresh look that celebrates Hilliard’s 100-year craft. Fun fact: Hilliard’s, founded in 1924, actually predates the building itself, which was constructed in 1932. Congratulations to Hilliard’s on this milestone, and thank you for letting us be a part of your incredible story. We are grateful for the chance to bring this space to life for the next century of chocolate lovers.

Huge thanks to the entire project team: engineering by , built by , and beautifully crafted millwork by . It took serious teamwork to get this open on a very tight timeline before the holidays.

Did you know JtA once designed a restaurant around a tree… literally?

remains one of our favorite ground up restaurant projects and for good reason. From the very first concept, the massive cottonwood tree on site became the anchor for the entire design. The dining room and roof deck wrap around it, creating a space that is intentional, rooted, and completely unique in town.

And while the architecture makes a statement, the exciting menu and warm service keep people coming back. Delicious ramen, tacos, and a rum focused cocktail program, each crafted with the same commitment to quality and guest experience that shaped the building itself.

We are grateful for our long time friends and clients who brought this vision to life. If you have not visited yet, this is your birdcall to go. Consider this a gentle nudge from the perch.

Big news: JtA wins Modern Luxury’s Design 9 Award for Best Kitchen

We’re so grateful that we get to do what we love every day, helping our clients live their best lives in homes that make everyday moments feel special. That alone is what matters most to us. But receiving the Design 9 Award for Architecture and Interior Design for Best Kitchen is some pretty sweet icing on the cake, and we’re feeling incredibly thankful.

The doors are officially open at the new in Central Square, and we couldn’t be more honored to have played even a small part in the monumental efforts bringing this space to life. With an artist studio, gallery, event space, and cafe (by ) all under one roof, it’s an inspiring new hub for creativity in Cambridge.

has long been a force for culture and community, and this new home marks the beginning of something even bigger. It’s a place for artists to create, exhibit, collaborate, and gather to celebrate their work, supporting both local voices and the larger art community.

Central Square just became even more vibrant, and while this is a major milestone, it’s only the beginning. We encourage everyone to step up, participate, and engage with the community to help push forward the essential role the arts play in shaping and supporting our shared future.
