The Wall Lamp, created in 1992, is a part of the Overtime 26 OG legacy, on exhibit among many fabulous works at The Center for Architecture + Design and AIA SF.
The Wall Lamp offers two viewing experiences: a warm, direct light reflecting off a wall surface, and a filtered view of the filament in the bulb visible through a shaded glass lens.
The lamp’s core consists of a porcelain base cradled by a metal frame that integrates the two metal side reflectors and the green filtered glass. To minimize heat transfer, the glass filter is delicately hung away from the porcelain base and bulb. The lamp’s workings are fully exposed to showcase its structure and dissipate the heat generated by the halogen bulb.
Appreciate everyone’s hard work in making this exhibit happen again!
